In continuation with last post, we will take a look on types of Trademarks at a glance.
It is basically a word or its combination without any artistic touch. It can be a name of product or service which is on the market.
Device Marks are the Word Marks with fancy / artistic / special font. Logos and Labels can be a Device Mark. These are presented in a special layout like Logo with name or slogan.
Service Marks represent services offered by a person or a company.
A Collective Mark is used collectively by a group of companies. The owner of such marks may be an association or public institution or cooperative.
Certification Marks assure the consumers that the product meets certain prescribed standards. It may be used by anybody who meets the defined standards.
There are some Unconventional Trademarks which get recognition for their inherently distinctive feature.
A particular color distinguishes the product and specifies its trader. Example: Red wine.

Recorded musical notes can be protected as Sound Marks.
Any ornamental article having specific shape can be protected as Shape Mark. Example: Bottle shape.
